Exchange visits

Exchange visits within and between countries aim to:

  • Improve common understanding between strategic actors in youth and adult education;
  • Encourage the spread of innovation in Reflect practice;
  • Promote discussion of the implementation of action points by Reflect circles;
  • Enable those who were not familiar with Reflect to see the approach in action;
  • Build capacity through shared learning;
  • Promote collaboration between state and non-state actors;
  • Encourage advocacy rooted in local realities;
  • Draw attention to literacy and the literate environment;
  • Disseminate information about current events and discuss their significance in the local contest.

Visits in Mali, Guinea and Senegal in 2009

Exchange visits were organised in Mali, Guinea and Senegal from 12 to 23 July 2009 in partnership with National Pamojas in these countries and with financial support from ICCO, dvv International and Action Aid. These visits brought together 15 participants from state technical services and NGOs from Mali, Guinea, Morocco, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Senegal with key stakeholders in non formal education in the communities that were visited. One mini bus visited communities in Mali and Guinea and another covered different communities in Mali and Senegal. Participants met in Mali at the start of the visits to agree common objectives and again at the end to share experiences and learning.
